Pacquiao continues to awe Roach as they reunite in US

BOXING legend Manny Pacquiao has rejoined with mentor Freddie Roach in front of his
unification battle against Errol Spence Jr.
What’s more, the 42-year-old Filipino is glancing electric in preparing with his old tutor.
Pacquiao starts his instructional course in his country prior to flying over to the Wild
Card rec center in California for the calibrating.
The welterweight scrap, with the WBC and IBF titles on the line, will happen on August
21 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
Transferring a photograph of some competing, Pacquiao posted on Twitter: “Eager to
be once again at Wild Card Gym with mentor Freddie!”
Be that as it may, his excursion to the US wasn’t just about as direct as the fighter would
have trusted.
Pacman loaded onto a departure from the Philippines to Los Angeles yet the plane was
redirected to Japan because of a health related crisis.
Pacquiao and his group were then compelled to remain at Haneda air terminal for three
hours prior to flying back to Manila.
What’s more, as indicated by Rapples, the 62-7 warrior then, at that point boarded
another arrangement to America on Sunday.
Spence jr. brags a record 27-0 with 21 knockouts and as of now holds the WBC and IBF
welterweight titles.
But Pacquiao was stripper of the WBA (Super) welterweight title, which he won in his
last fight against Keith Thurman in 2019.
This was due to what the board deemed as ‘inactivity’.
The Ring Magazine also voted to have their title on the line, despite usually having the
vacant belt contested only between their top two ranked fighters.

Pacquiao impressive in training, knocking down sparring partners

“It was the old Manny Pacquiao from 10 years ago.”
This is how Freddie Roach described the performance of the 42-year old Manny
Pacquiao on the sparring session.
Roach, who earlier said was offering money to sparring partners they hired to
knockdown Pacquiao received a reverse card as it was the eight-division world
champion who went punishing his opponents.
With his age and the two-year absence in the ring, Pacquiao could have been shaking
off the rust and with doubts but it is clearly the opposing with weeks away before he
faces the unified welterweight champion Errol Spence Jr.
“He had probably his best sparring yesterday, we went ten rounds and he got two
knockdowns. It was the old Manny Pacquiao from 10 years ago,” said Roach in an open
workout.
Dissecting the words of Roach, a decade ago was the prime Pacquiao who was on a
rampage every time he entered the ring. Will he display old prime self against the prime
Spence?
This kind of development is surely adding to the hype of the fight that will see action
come August 21 st

Pacquiao congratulates Paalam, salutes Marcial on a podium finish

On the day that two Filipino boxers saw action in the semi-final of men’s boxing in the
Olympic Games Tokyo 2020, the Philippines got a 1-1 result.
Carlo Paalam, the most surprising by far, is off for a gold medal match after beating his
opponent via unanimous decision in the men’s flyweight while Manny Pacquiao’s
protégé Eumir Marcial suffered a close defeat over his Ukrainian foe via split decision to
settle for an Olympic bronze medal.
Despite not owning two wins in a day, Pacquiao made sure to commend both boxers on
their job well done.
“Fight for Gold, Carlo Paalam! We are rooting for you. Thank you, Eumir Marcial for
giving your best! Your Olympic effort was solid gold.”
“The two of you make us very proud!” He wrote on his official Twitter account.
Marcial was heartbroken after the fight but he vows to come back stronger and will take
the lessons from his defeat. Meanwhile, Paalam is one to be proud for himself as he at
only 23-year old is on the finals fighting for a gold medal for the Philippines.
Whether or not he will get the second gold, one thing is for sure, both Paalam and
Marcial have a bright future ahead of them in the sports of boxing.

Pacquiao: “Boxing is my passion, I want to fight the best”

For those who are still questioning whether Manny Pacquiao should continue fighting
with his age already beyond 40, he answered it plain and simple.
Boxing is his passion and that passion remains alive that’s why he is fighting. It’s not
about the money, it’s about him enjoying himself while at the same time bringing glory to
his home country, the Philippines.
“Hard work is the most difficult thing in boxing,” the eight-division world champion said
on his Instagram video.
“I’m so honoured and thankful for the Filipino people for always being there and
cheering and supporting me. This is where I get inspiration from your support and
prayers.”
He is only weeks away from his ring return to challenge the belts of the undefeated
unified welterweight champion Errol Spence.
“God is good all the time. Always protecting me, giving me strength and keeping me
safe.”
“Boxing is my passion, I want to fight the best. It means a lot to win this fight and it’s
very important that I can bring another honour to my country.”
