Anthony Joshua is eager for the Tyson Fury fight to happen.

Unified world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua is firm and desperate to make the Tyson Fury showdown a reality. He stressed the need and importance of the fight not just to them but for the sport of boxing.

“Do I need Tyson Fury on my record? I need it.”

“Fight good fighters, and they bring out the best of you,” he said on the 5 Live Boxing podcast.

“We need it for boxing.”

“Training camp is brutal. To get better is very difficult in boxing. To fight Tyson Fury is a big challenge.

“I’m going to put that pressure on myself to get better. But it’s what we all need. I need it. Come on, let’s see how good I am.

“Let’s see how far I can take myself during this period. It’ll be a good challenge mentally. Not about him, but because I want to do well.

“When I wake up in the morning early, and I’m tired, my body’s battered, I still go out and do what I do. It’s great rewards, and only someone like Fury can give that to me.”

The unification bout was already moving last year as they officially declared the fight not until a judge ordered a trilogy between Fury and former WBC Heavyweight Champion Deontay Wilder.

This broke all the plans of Joshua and Fury, who are now facing different opponents before they can restart their plan on colliding inside the ring.

Fury-Joshua megabout crashes down after Usyk win

The dream fight of both British heavyweight kings trading blows by blows inside the
boxing ring has been shut down after Anthony Joshua failed to defend his unified belts
against Oleksandr Usyk.
The unification bout between WBC heavyweight champ Tyson Fury and Anthony
Joshua is farther than reality.
“I don’t see it happening now,” Fury’s promoter Frank Warren told the BBC.
“The unification fight was there, such a big fight. Heartbreaking.”
Even though Joshua can claim the belt back on their rematch, Warren said that he is no
longer a worthy opponent against the undefeated Gypsy King after showing
vulnerability.
“Usyk is a good fighter, he boxed extremely well. But Joshua is so vulnerable. He’s
been like that for ages,” he added.
“They can talk all they want about rematches… Even if he was to beat Usyk, what is
Tyson Fury going to do to Joshua? You would have your house on Tyson beating him.”
The two said fighters were about to clash not before Fury was ordered to defend the
WBC strap against its former owner Deontay Wilder on a trilogy.
Both of them walked different path and now can no longer meet.

In his twitter post he said ” Keep positive even if the world’s crumbling in front of you! London I love you & thank you each and every time!”

After his victory against Joshua, Usyk has said his trainers told him to avoid knocking out his opponent.

“I had no objective to knock him out because my trainer, in my corner, pushed me not to do that,” Usyk told reporters.

“In the beginning, I hit him hard and tried to knock him out.

“But then my trainer said: ‘Just stop, and do your job’.

Now, Wilder is set to clash with Fury on October 9 and Joshua is going to watch the fight live.
