After Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder rocked the sports world with their instant classic
‘bout, the hype poked interest to some especially in the UFC.
UFC President Dana White has been a big critic of the sport however, most of his stars
are now thinking of shifting to the square ring for bigger money.
The latest to voice out was reigning heavyweight king Francis Ngannou.
“Well, it [MMA] is more difficult [than boxing]. I feel I should not be needing to borrow
money for my training camp,” he said on The MMA Hour.
“At some point, I’m gonna go after those money. I’m gonna go to that boxing for
sure…I’m not challenging the system, I’m just saying my right.”
He may have what it takes to cross sport as he has background on boxing growing up.
“First of all, boxing is my background. Boxing was my first love for a very long time,” he
said in a previous interview.
“For more than 10 years I have been loving boxing without even knowing what MMA
was,” he continued. “Then, I get in MMA by opportunity, but still boxing lover. So, I think,
at some point, I can end up to cross paths with that dream.”

dollar with his fight against Floyd Mayweather Jr.

“Tank” Davis retains WBA lightweight after UD win over Cruz

Gervonta “Tank” Davis may have fought his hardest fight so far in his boxing career but
he still stood out as the best.
He won over Mexican Isaac Cruz via unanimous decision to remain the WBA world
lightweight champion.
All three judges scored the fight, 116-112, 115-113, 115-113, all in favor of Davis.
It was the first time Davis went through the full rounds in his professional career.
However, he revealed that the reason for it was he injured his left hand midway through
the main event fight.
“I hurt my left hand in probably the sixth round but I got through it. It’s shaking but it is
what it is, that’s what comes with the spo of the head. I messed it up.
“I felt that as the fight was going on and on, he was breaking down, but I hurt my hand
so I couldn’t get him out of there,” Davis said on the post-fight press conference.
Floyd Mayweather Jr., his mentor, was also present to watch the fight.
